May 2019 Retreat
At the eco centre – Bradwell on Sea 20192 nights full board sharing a twin room – £198 per person.
Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May 2019
Our retreat centre is located in a beautiful coastal area of Essex, right on the estuary of the River Blackwater. The centre’s community has its roots in the aftermath of the second world war – its early pioneers created a movement that sought to pursue reconciliation and understanding between people of different faiths, cultures and nationalities. Today it is a place of welcome to people from all walks of life and all ages. It has a special concern for living in harmony with nature. It is off grid with it’s own wind-turbine, solar panels, eco building and yurts. The beauty of the natural world is all around – from a green woodpecker to an unpolluted starlit night sky.
Our retreat begins at 11am on Friday and ends 5pm Sunday. (Full Timetable TBC). We begin on Friday with our brought shared picnic brunch on the beach and follow with plentiful but optional yoga and mindfulness sessions. All full board meals are then provided, (along with Tea and biscuits during our breaks). Bring your own linen and towels (or £10 from the centre).
“It was a magical time, I am so glad I came. I was really pleased to hear the cuckoo call over 100 times! even though it was 4.10am! The meditation in the old chapel and the mindfulness on the beach were really lovely, and I so enjoyed the yoga- must keep it up!! Thanks again

I so enjoy going to the retreat, the minute I arrive I start to relax. The surroundings are very natural, I love the little herb garden where you can sit and enjoy the peace. As it is a community I always feel welcome when I am there. It’s great to be with my yoga group but if I want solitude, to read or go for a walk on the beach, then that’s fine too. Taking the yoga classes are wonderful but my favourite activity is the early morning tai chi on the long white sandy beach close by, a really lovely way to start the day. My only complaint is that we are fed so well! Coming on retreat is like leaving the world behind for a short while… ah peace.

Thanks for the weekend retreat at Bradwell. This was my first experience of a retreat and having only recently enjoyed your classes I wasn’t sure what to expect. Needless to say it was a lovely break. The timetables for the weekend worked well, with a nice balance between sessions and time to yourself to enjoy the beach and surroundings. It’s a wonderful place to take time out and just slow down.I’d love to come along to the next one!
